Winter is coming, and it's bringing snow!
It's not officially winter until the 21st, but the snow and cold are here in Toronto. Should you lock yourself away for the next few months? No way! Here are some great options for things to do in Toronto this month:
December 12th
The grand re-opening of the Avenue Road entrance will take place at noon on December 12th, but admission to the museum will be free from 10am to 5pm!
December 12th, 13th, and 14th, starting at noon
It's worth planning your day around this popular free concert to enjoy some classical music in the afternoon. Arrive and line up early to get seats, as this small amphitheater fills up very quickly.
December 15th and 16th
For two days only find a mix of handcrafted goods, artisanal foods, and local farmers. The perfect opportunity to find one of a kind gifts and delicious holiday treats!
December 16th, 23rd, and 30th
DJs provide the music for your winter skating entertainment! Those without skates can rent skates and helmets near the ice rink. Click this link to find out more about rentals. Remember to bring your passport or government ID for rentals.
December 18th, 19th, 20th, 22nd, and 23rd
If you've never experienced it before, you won't want to miss this full orchestra and choir in all of their glory. Tickets are are $39 and up, but those under 35 years of age should try to get tickets through the TSO Soundcheck program for discounted tickets.
December 18th through January 7th, excluding December 24/25/31 and January 6th
Lights, Santa, and Hot Coco! Casa Loma opens up its gardens and fills them with light and magic. Standard admission rates.
December 19th at noon
The 20 voice strong singing group will be holding a free concert one day only at Roy Thomson Hall. If you've got an hour to spare, you won't want to miss out.
December 21st at noon
The Toronto Beaches Children's Chorus and the Toronto Mass Choir team up to make a fun and musical event, free for everyone to attend. Santa is rumored to be making an appearance!
December 22nd to Jan 1st
Mickey, Minnie, and all the gang skate up a storm to your favorite Disney songs. For some, this is the event you've been waiting for all year.
December 26th to January 7th
The museum gets a holiday theme makeover, complete with exhibits and displays with winter and holiday themes. Feel the season and learn some history!

The Toronto Zoo's Behavioural Husbandry Program is designed to provide our animals with mental stimulation as well as choice within their environments; novel substrates, and unique scents which encourage our animals to exhibit natural behaviours, and as a result are a benefit to the animals overall health and welfare.

Now audiences can experience this ground-breaking film as never before: projected in HD with a full symphony orchestra performing Williams’ magnificent score live to picture.
