May puts some spring in your step
There may be a few cold days on the calendar, but we're finally ready to put away our winter jackets! Now that it's nice to walk outside, let's check out some of the events happening this month:
May 13th, 12 - 4pm
Haven't had the chance to visit high park yet this spring? The blossoms won't stay on the trees forever! Why not come to one of the biggest high park events of the year and enjoy the scenery?
May 14th, 6:30 - 7:30pm
Ever think about starting a garden on your balcony? It's not so easy, but a master gardener will be on hand to answer your questions and guide your green thumb. No registration required, but arrive early!
May 16th to 18th, evenings
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra and conductor Jeffery Schindler present the score and music from my favourite Harry Potter movie, the Prisoner of Azkaban. Music and magic lovers should not miss out!
May 18th 6pm to 8pm, May 19th 1 - 3pm
Lovers of free pancakes rejoice! Fuwa Fuwa Japanese pancake house is celebrating their grand opening. Arrive early to beat the line up for these delicious sweets!
May 19 - 21st, 11am to 6pm
Celebrate painting, photography, sculpture, fine crafts, live music, and more from some of Canada's top artists in the historic distillery district. Fun for kids and adults alike. Free admission!
May 19th and 20th, 1pm to 7pm Ready to drink some beer outdoors? This is one of the first beer festivals in Toronto this year. Games, food, and more are available for this 19+ event. Tickets are $25 or $35 with 10 tokens for food and drink.
May 23rd to June 3rd
This unique festival celebrates the human voice. A Capella artists and groups from all over North America join us in Toronto. Some concerts are free, while others require ticket purchases. See the full schedule for times and locations!
May 24th to 27th, 11am to 10pm
The answer to the question, "what is Canadian food?" poutine is found in many restaurants but rarely done well. Here is your chance to see, smell, and taste the best poutine in Toronto all in one place! Bring your appetite.
May 27th, noon to 7pm
Select Sundays over the summer the famous Kensington Market blocks all car traffic in and out of the area to create a wonderful street market! Shop and walk freely through the market, and enjoy the atmosphere!
