Happy New Year Toronto!

Yes 2017 is upon us, and there's lots happening around Toronto tonight.

Remember the TTC is free all night starting at 7pm, so be safe!

The City of Toronto is kicking off Canada’s 150th birthday with fireworks, live music and skating at Nathan Phillips Square starting at 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Walk Off the Earth is the headliner. The skating rink is also open on Jan. 1.

The Natrel Rink at Harbourfront Centre is open until 1 a.m. on New Year’s Eve, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Day.

If you’re looking for somewhere to take the family on New Year’s Day, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Toronto Zoo and the Ontario Science Centre are open. Ripley’s Aquarium is also open for normal hours (until 11 p.m.) on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Movie lovers will know that most theatres, including Cineplex locations, Revue Cinema, Imagine Cinemas and the TIFF Bell Lightbox are open. The Hot Docs Ted Rogers Theatre is open on Dec. 31, and has one showing on New Year’s Day — O.J. Made in America at 2 p.m.

See you all in the new year!
