Hot events in July


The rains of June have stopped, and the heat is here. Yes, it's the middle of summer in Canada. How can you take advantage of this time of year? Get out and do something! Here are some ideas:

Thursday, June 4, 11, 18, 25th

Want to see a free movie outside? Dundas Square is hosting free movie screenings every Tuesday at sundown. Bring your own snacks!

June 5th, and every tuesday following through August

If you'd prefer to see a movie on Wednesday, why not head down to the free outdoor movie screening at Harbourfront?

Want to combine high art culture with electronic dance club culture? Look no further! Buy tickets in advance, ID required.

If it's a free live concert you're looking for, Friday nights at Dundas Square you can check out some up and coming indie music artists.

July 7th to 23rd

Twice a year the restaurants of Toronto put out special menus at very special prices. This is a nice chance to try a restaurant you normally wouldn't, but make a reservation because this event is well known and very popular.

All through July, every weekend starting Friday evening and continuing on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, there will be live Jazz music being played around Woodbine Park. Don't miss this unique musical event!

July 8th and 9th

This free street festival features salsa dance and Latin culture just west of St. Clair west station. Bring your dancing shoes!

July 9th

Taking place at the Chinese cultural centre from 12pm to 6pm, this event asks for a $2 donation to support Second Harvest food bank in Toronto. Support charity and taste some amazing food!

Every Tuesday until the end of August

Casa Loma is known for it's beauty, but now its beauty can also be heard. Grab tickets for this unique garden party experience!

July 14th to 16th

Nathan Philips Square hosts this free outdoor art festival. Come check out what's on display!

July 15th and 16th

If you're interested in this event check the website as the location has yet to be determined. Celebrate Indian music, culture, dance, and food!

July 22nd and 23rd

Celebrate local arts on Bloor street west, just west of Dufferin Station. Hear music, try a variety of foods, and enjoy walking along Bloor street!

July 23rd

Billed as the hottest event this summer, come celebrate Brazilian culture at Earlscourt Park afternoon to evening. Viva Brazil!

July 27th to 30th

The Tirgan festival celebrates Iranian arts and culture, and takes place at the Harbourfront Centre. Hundreds of artists and performers are scheduled to attend.

July 28th to 30th

With Canadian rock legends Sloan headlining the event, this festival is sure to please any beer lover. Enjoy responsibly! Tickets are going fast...
