August means fun in the sun! Toronto island has re-opened!

August is your best chance to soak up these last summer events around Toronto. Here's a look at what's free, low cost, or simply shouldn't be missed this month:

Toronto Island re-opens this month!

August 2nd, and every Tuesday following through August

If you'd prefer to see a movie on Wednesday, why not head down to the free outdoor movie screening at Harbourfront? 9pm to 11pm.

Wednesday to Friday, every week until October

Come see live musical performances in the heart of the village. 12pm to 2pm.

Every Friday until September 8th!

If it's a free live concert you're looking for, Friday nights at Dundas Square you can check out some up and coming indie music artists. 8pm - 11pm.

August 3rd

Come see people from all different walks of life become Canadians! See performances by the High Park Shakespear company and listen to discussions on Canada. Free!

August 4th to 7th

Come see this free art and music festival before the CNE begins at Ontario Place. Get creative!

August 10th to 13th Filipino culture, art, food, music, and dance are all represented at this festival.

August 18th to September 4th

This annual fair features rides, games, and live music. Truly part of the Toronto summer experience! Advance tickets are $15.

Every Tuesday until the end of August

Casa Loma is known for it's beauty, but now its beauty can also be heard. Grab tickets for this unique garden party experience!

This celebration of Korean culture is an annual favourite in North York. Games, food, and performances by notable Korean artists.

TAIWANfest @ Harbourfront Centre

August 25th to August 27th This festival takes place both in Vancouver and Toronto. This year features many Japanese musical acts as well. Learn papercraft, or just enjoy the food!

Many of the events this month are weekly, so if you miss one week you can join the next. Get out and enjoy the last weeks of summer!
